On July 7th, a seminar on the "Sezai Game" developed by Mie University and the Kumano Rinseikai, which is active in Kumano City, Mie Prefecture, was held at our company.
Our company develops, designs, and manufactures sawmilling machines, but we wonder how well we understand the meaning of sawmilling.
The participants were mainly young people and came from a variety of occupations, including the development and design department, manufacturing department, sales department, and trade department. The students were divided into 1 teams of 3 to 4 people per team, and received a talk about sawmilling and an explanation of the rules of the game from Kumano Rinseikai.
After practicing picking wood, the game starts. When the auction begins, each team actively raises their cards and bids them down.
I immediately inserted the log sawing (wood cutting) puzzle I had purchased and went to the cash exchange place. In the meantime, the bidding continues, so speed is important.
The team that auctioned off high-quality logs and actively focused on harvesting the logs was the winner.
I think that deepening our knowledge of lumber through the game will be a plus for our work in the future.
